www prox fails with DNS in

I am having this problem with my www proxy server,
if i have a Default DNS server specified in the local area connection which the proxy server binding is bound to then all users cannot use this service,
they get this page in MS IE
this page cannot be displayed
error 404,
just type in www.microsoft.com
and it says that,
as soon as i remove the DNS from the LAN connection properties then it all works, but that is no good.

Hi Jason,

Unless you are running another DNS server on a different machine you should leave the internal NIC of the WinGate server with no settings other than IP address and subnet mask. You should only set a DNS server address and default gateway in the external NIC properties of the WinGate server.
