Blocking

Postby pnp » Jun 17 04 8:04 am

Is there a way that if a virus is caught that the email address it is coming from is blocked and mail cannot be recieved from that account until it is released? With the last worm that went around I recieved 2000 emails, all infected from 4 different addresses. If we could have blocked them on the first hit it would have saved alot of time. If this is not available you can add it to your wishlist.

Thanks

Excellent idea, something similar that I have thought of is in an organisation where users abuse email, the ability to block a particular inbound mail would be very useful.

My last example of this brought down a soho 1 minute prior to the scheduled a/v update in Wingate when a staff member hit the attachment to a private email!

The pest [whatever it was called] mass emailed until the next scheduled update and generated about 13,000 queued messages in a short time.

Fortunately it is a slow connection and only a few escaped <120!
