Dear QBik/WinGate,
I'm a happy user of WinGate 4.4.0 (and before that of WinGate 3), using the Standard 6 User version, purchased back in 2001.
Everything works fine, so I don't want to upgrade to a newer version - clients ranging from Win95, Win98, WinNT, Win2K, and Win2K3 connect to my Win2K "internet connection machine" with the WinGate 4.4.0 Engine on it.
The thing is: I'm getting to many computers in my network, and since the connection machine also counts in the license, only 5 others can concurrently connect to the internet, as far as I know.
I would like to add more users, so ideally I would prefer to upgrade to a WinGate 4.x Standard 12 User license (from my existing 6 User license). Like I said, I have a valid WinGate 4.x License Name and License Key (and invoice number, from back in the Deerfield days).
Is it still possible to upgrade this old version 4.4.0 from 6 User to 12 Users? Or do I need to upgrade to WinGate 6 Pro 12 Users perhaps? But in that case, can the WinGate 6 license key be used in version 4.4.0? (I'm willing to pay for the upgrade, but will not install the newer version, since everything works fine with 4.4.0 and I don't want to break a running system by upgrading the software - been there, done that ;-)
So: can I upgrade to a 12 User license for my Wingate 4.4.0 engine, that's the big question. Thanks in advance!
