I have just upgraded to WG6. Everything went ok, licence sorted etc, all original settings maintained, and the clients are able to connect. (Tried unsucessfully to get the ENS working, but we have never managed to get that going!)
All clients currently use Outlook express checking individual POP3 mailboxes. (I have not yet been brave enough to figure out how to use the wingate mail features). However, it now seems that no client using Outlook express can send or receive any emails, jsut receiving errors such as:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.companyx.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.btclick.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be?
Thanks
PS, Does anyone know of any company in the UK (North West) which offers onsite support with wingate. The company which currently supports our server and any problems has little knowledge of wingate and dislikes it immensly, and my own network knowledge is limited to what I have learnt by trial and error in setting it up.
