Problems with SMTP

Postby chsul » Sep 23 04 4:45 am

Hi,

I writing for help.

I've download and installed the last wingate (yesterday) and i tried to install the pop and smtp services on my machine.

I give a domain to it (such as temp.pt) and add one e-mail account (such as name@temp.pt). (of course this is a valid domain)
On the delivery field i put my smtp (mail.telepac.pt).
And inserted on the collections my mail, because it seems a little obvius to me.

I receive mails, but i can't send! Why?

Hi

When you say you receive, do you mean POP3 collection (collection tab)?

Or do you mean receive mail from the internet by SMTP?

WinGate should deliver any mail it gets (either by retrieval by POP3 or reception by SMTP), as long as:

1. Delivery is enabled
2. The machine has internet access.

If you look in the mail queue tab, do you see mail waiting in there to be sent?

Also, if you edit the SMTP server, and go to logging, and enable "debug" logging, you will see all that the SMTP server tries to do in delivery. If there is an error in delivery, it will be logged in the SMTP server log file.
