Make sure that the adapter usage was set properly (internal/external).

Yes, the computer on which you install Wingate should work fine - what are the netwrok cards installed on this machine and how are you connected to the internet?

Ok, one by one:

1. No, you don't. Client machines can use NAT or proxies. There are pros and contras in using WGIC clients, one of such contras is the requirement to install WGIC clients.

2. I am afraid I didn't quite follow it - any user or one particular user?

3. Did you mean that your WG machine had 2 default gateways? Normally the topology like yours works just fine - when the new IP address is allocated WG re-loads the routing table and all routing is done through the newly allocated gateway. However, WG might not recognize the adapter as an external one propely - make sure that the usage is set correctly.
