Wingate Pricing

Postby scalt » Aug 03 05 9:01 am

I am curently looking into purchasing Wingate 6.0. It would be to use it in our home network. At the moment, we have around 8 computers in the LAN that need internet access. So for "everyday" purposes, the WinGate 6.0 Standard 12 concurrent users licence would be sufficient.

However, every once in a while, we have a little LAN party at our house which might bring up the number of computers close to and sometimes over 25.

What I was wondering is what would happen in the case that there'd be 25 computers in the LAN using a 12 user license? Would 13 of them simply not be able to access the interent, or is it more of an illegal use of a license (they'd be able to use the internet, but we'd be violating our license agreement).

The limit on the number of computers licensed is normally applied to the computers trying to get to the Internet at the same time. That is if you have 25 network clients but only half of them access the Internet simulteneously, you can get away with 12 user license.
