Just wondering

Postby frputz » May 09 08 2:21 am

Dear all,

just wondering and i feeling bad that everytime i write something here i have to write it like a flamer...

Personally i am very disagree with the way qbik is going for his new release of wingate...

I have a central internet gateway here running on wingate, good it runs fairly well but have some problems. .. Some month ago we going on to migrate a company from us to our central internet access but due to some problems with wingate in this case we decide to take a other solution..

Now we are comparing this and we see that we got less problems with this solution .. but right now we are still waiting for the new Wingate Release and like to give the software a chance because the old one done his job good the last years.. but it is on the end of his life now....

So we are hoping and hoping that Wingate 2007 then wingate 2008 and... is release but nothing is happen.... a nice story from the qbik ceo crying about the problems that's all... registering on the Beta Program already for 2007 then for 2008 with several accounts but never got a download... no one talks about.. no one.. nothing in forums ..
I think it is normal if there is a long beta period people talking about there impression with the beta .. but nothing...

Thats is realy poor.. i am not sure if there is a really working beta ..

I think i am wasting only my time on this... so i stop now and i am again very unhappy with the Qbik company

Hi

Thanks for spending the time to write here and giving us an opportunity to respond.

Firstly, I'm sorry you're unhappy. We're not thrilled with the time it's taking either. I know that doesn't make it easier for customers to know that, but we are working extremely hard on this release.

As for your remarks about me crying about the delays, well that message wasn't written with that intention, and what I wrote in there still holds true in terms of the benefits from restructuring. We are very mindful of the cost to our business of the delays, but we are also mindful of the need to do things differently to the past.

We did release a preview in July last year which I thought people who had subscribed to the beta list had been notified about. It's still there, but is now extremely old compared to current software. If you'd like to look at it let me know, but it wouldn't really show you much.

Our current plan is to release another preview / beta in the next few weeks (current ETA 20 May, but that may slip a week). We will be mailing the subscribed beta list.

I'd also be keen to ensure that whatever problems you've been facing before we address and fix. You say that you found another solution for your new installation - what aspects of what that new solution does were the key points in your decision, and what do you like about it?

One of the benefits of the new WinGate structure is that we are able to implement major new functionality about 20 times more quickly than before.

Regards

Adrien
