wingate firewall

Postby pasxen » Aug 29 05 2:58 am

i want a good firewall for my company and i try wingate trial
i have 20 pc's with windows xp pro (pack 1).
i put wingate in the server with avg pro antivirus.
the server do the adsl connection. i haven't router.
In all the others computers i have only avtivirus.
I don't install wingate to the others pc's in my local network.
I try some tests about how secure is my network and i see that all ports are closed for tojans etc.
i don't change any settings to the wingate in my server and all works fine.
Very light program and i share files and internet between my local network.

I want to ask u is this secure enough or i must install it to the others computers?
i have bought avg for a year and i use it in my server with wingate, is there any conflicts between these two?
I decide to test it for a while berore i buy it.
if you have any settings for wingate how to be more secure i want to know.
Thanks and i wait your quick reply.

Wingate firewall is quite secure and does not require additional software to be installed.

first of all thanks for your reply.
what do you mean does not require additional software?
it doesn't require antivirus to be installed in my server?

Thanks.

No, sorry, I had to be more specific - it does not require additional _firewall_ software to be installed.

During your trial install the KAV plugin, which will scan incoming traffic for you as users browse or download eMail.

All my installations have it and daily it prevents malware / virii from entering their network, what could be better :)) good luck!
