SQL Server many to one authentication capability

Postby trunkmonkey » Apr 02 09 4:49 am

Can Wingate help?

I need non-windows domain applications to perform SQL Queries against a SQL server using domain user accounts. I can not share the the domain user accounts with the client applications or trust their services. What I am looking for is a SQL Server proxy that allows me to authenticate the front door with some other credentials, but the SQL Server proxy allows me to insert the domain user account (stuffed and protected in the proxy and sent with query connect). Therefore all queries run under the domain user account privileges.

If Wingate can't any other products?

Hi

That something would need to talk SQL protocol to the server to be able to auth to it. You'd need a special SQL proxy, which I've never heard of before, but you never know.

You could possibly emulate one in CGI / script (e.g. use a script to talk to the clients, but the script has the credentials to access the SQL server).

What protocol are the clients running? Is it MS SQL server clients?
