loading wingate on Server 2003 SP2

Postby crockart » May 27 09 2:23 am

I am sure I'm not the first person to have a problem here. I have been running my mail server with Server 2003 SP1 for some time now with Wingate in place. I have recently updated the OS to SP2 and tried to load Wingate 5.2.3. On trying to load it now I am told that I am running Internet connection Sharing and Internet Personel Firewall and I cant go any further.
Have looked at how to disable these services but still get this problem. Please would someone be good enough to let me know how to get round this problem so I can install Wingate again on my server.

Hi Scotty,

Wingate 5.2.3 is very old technology, does this same response occur with the latest release?

To get around the problem, you could use the latest version of WinGate. It will still prompt you that ICS is enabled and ask that you disable it, but it won't prevent you from installing WinGate because of this.
