We recommend that the Windows Firewall be disabled from the system services. If the service is still enabled, Windows is able to turn the firewall back on without your knowledge or consent, usually after a Windows update.

To disable the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing service:
- Go to Start -> Run -> services.msc
- Find and double click on Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing from the list of services
- Change the "Startup type" to Disabled
- Click the "Stop" button
- Click "OK"
