Postby ZeBiafa » Nov 18 03 5:01 am

Hi a have a problem with my wingate.
Wingate start with a message of an ENS error: can't find ENS driver.
What's ENS and what driver is missing?
And wingate stops 3 or 4 times a day.
My SO is winxp Professional.
Wingate version 4.5.0
Someone can help me, please...

If it can't load the ENS / NAT driver and says it is missing the easiest thing to do is re-install WinGate over the top. You wont lose any settings.

To check if the driver really is missing, or the message is being reported wrongly, you should check in c:\windows\system32\drivers for a file called qbikhkxp.sys.

Hi, thanks for the advice.
I don´t have the file in my computer.
Do you think it's a good idea to make the upgrade of wingate 4.5.0 for 5.??, the new one?
I will lost my settings by doing this upgrade, correct?

No, if you upgrade from 4.5.0 to 5.1.0 then your settings will be maintained and migrated. The only difference is that you won't get any of the new version 5 features while you are still using a version 4 key.
