Postby NoCause » Mar 02 06 9:34 pm

Ok this is what I want to do but im not getting it right.

I have 6 PC's and 1 server with a switch connected to the internet. I have a 30 GB DSL Account. This is in an office. I want each user to have acces to the internet but they must only be alowed a certain % of the bantwidth and a certain amount of GB to use. After that it must just throttle.

Plz can somone help me with this

Tnx

You'll need to use a combination of policies (For bandwidth counting) and bandwidth throttling (For throttling). Genie's the expert on bandwidth control though, so we'll need his input on that topic.

In the meantime, what do you want to throttle the users down to once they've used their bandwidth? I'm assuming it's a hard limit - once they've hit it they should not be allowed any net access, so you don't go over your 30GB cap, correct?

Pascal is right - you need double configuration setup:

1. Bandwidth throttling - enable throttling, create a restriction with the desired percentage (or absolute value) to be used, create a rule or a set of rules, which would control every PC bandwidth and assign your restrictions to the rules - that's for bandwidth throttling control.
2. Create a policy which switches a user (or users) off when the certain traffic limit is exceeded.
