Flexible wingate license?

Postby JUN » Mar 08 06 8:51 pm

Currently I have a smoothly running WINGATE 5.X with only 3 concur users. Recently I purchased a wingate 6.x STANDARD 6 concur users.

Ofcourse, the license for the version 6 will not work on the version 5.
But the version 5 license will work for the version 6.

My question is, is there a way I could use the version 6 license so that
my currently installed/working ver 5 wingate will accept it as an added
license.

Thank you.

The reason I ask this is because, I already tried the ver 6.x wingate and
I have a really hard time setting up the e-mails again. My version
5 wingate allows 3 independent e-mails (sending/receiving), it
is set to relay and proxy. But when I upgraded it to version 6.x,
e-mails go wrong, even if it was a simple upgrade install. (not the internet)

Thanks.

There has been some changes since Version 5. We are unlikely to give out a license for version 5 however. If you post details of what you want to achieve with the email setup we can help you work out how to alter your configuration.

Alternatively, the article in our knowledge base might be of use.

I got the solution and no need to use the wingate 6 license on a
wingate 5 software.

What I did is installed the wingate 6.x on a win 2000 OS
(automatic install, where e-mail server option is checked)
and everything went well without having to set up any
proxies/relays WINGATE did it for me.

I noticed, if I use wingate 6 software on a win98, and I
have several independent external e-mails. wingate variably
performs (like sometimes it sends/receives and sometimes
it does not).

To relieve thyself of such occurrences, it is best to INSTALL
WINGATE 6.X ON WINDOWS2000.

Thanks wingate guys.
