DNS question

Postby Xefan » Jun 26 06 6:08 pm

I have a DNS server with intranet adresses DB and I want it to be a forwarding server for internet adresses. When I create a new account in wingate and make DNS mashine assumed by IP, nothing works. I've discovered that it works only when the assumed user is Administrator. The most interesting fact is that when I assign my new user in Administrators group, it doesn't resolve domain names! But Administrator does! What's the matter? I use Wingate 6.1.3

Hi

sounds like you set the system policies to require authentication on a global level. By default if you do this, it will require it for all services, which is no good for DNS etc.

Try adding a policy to the DNS server that allows everyone unrestricted access.

System Policies > Users Can Access Services > Everyone - Unrestricted rights
DNS - every group is set to "may be assumed"

Is your guest account disabled in WinGate?
