Mail server

Postby dezt » Jul 14 06 9:34 pm

Is it possible to cnfigure the mail server to download from a pop3 e-mail account and pass to an exchange server?

Will I have to buy 3rd party software to do this?

POP3 Collection is available with Verison 6 licenses; or request a trial license.
GateKeeper --> Email --> Collection

You can also use third party collectors; some of them have different features that could be aligned with your desired result.

With regards to WinGate collecting mail and then forwarding into the exchange mail boxes; I can't say I have configured it, but I would presume it is scenario 2 on page 45 and POP3 Collection on page 9 below; take note of the bottom of POP3 Collection section, it specifies how a loop could potentially be created when it needs to forward onto another server.

Does anyone else have comments on this configuration?

You don't really need Wingate to do this.

Exchange server can be configured easily to download email directly from any number of POP accounts.

Exchange makes me cry. Horrible software to maintain. I'm crying right actually.
I love Wingate, and it loves me!

You are wrong! Exchange can't download mail by POP3, ther is no any POP3 -connector in it. You have to use other applications like GFI Mail Essentials
