Blocking Website

Postby uzairbashir » Sep 17 13 7:30 pm

I have a simple configuration. My wingate server is connected to a switch to which all the other clients are connected. This switch is connected to a router. The gateway of all clients is set to the IP of wingate server and the gateway of wingate server is the switch. I want to block facebook on my server so that no client can access it. Can anybody help me with url filtering.

Hi. This should be very simple by using Web Access Rules.

Go to Web Access Control -> Access Rules
Add Rule
Chose "Deny" as the rule result
Fill out the parameters as you step through the wizard, specifically the "What" section. Add a site called facebook.com here.

Now, when a user browses to Facebook, it should be blocked and you will see the Hit Count increase in the Access Rules panel.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
