Postby taufan95 » Apr 25 14 5:15 pm

Hi All

I'm New and need your advice.
- I Have Linksys WRT54GL Connected to my Cable Modem directly as a router. Which have IP address 192.168.1.1.
- I connect this router to my PC (Windows xp x64) which have two NIC. I plan to use 1 NIC ( DHCP ip.192.168.1.101 ) to be my external connection to the internet and 2 NIC (Static Ip
192.168.2.1) as my internal connection to Lan.
- In My PC I have installed VMware Workstation 7 with Windows Server 2003 as the Operating Sistem.
- Inside windows server 2003 I Plan to install wingate 6 and act as DHCP Server to my internal LAN
Can I do this?

Hi

WinGate runs fine in VMWare, and as long as the VMWare network interface settings are correct there should be no problem running a DHCP server in a VM, and WinGate will do this for you.

The mode you want for the network interface is bridged (rather than NAT etc).

Regards
