POP3 Collection does not collect automaticly

Postby kiav » Feb 05 07 12:15 am

I use WinGate 6.1.2. I created one pop3 account in pop3 collection. It should collect mail every 1 minute.

When I start up Windows (Win XP SP2) pop3 collection does not begin collect mail before I open GateKeeper and open account settings and apply them again. I do not change account setings, but after that manipulation pop3 collection begin its work. Next day (when I start up Windows again) I have to repeat this manipulation with GateKeeper again/

Why?

Hm. I did not use WinGate's SMTP server (it was switched off). When I swithed it on the POP3 Collection started.

I get the same problem on a Win2K3 box. I end up going into one of the email collection accounts on a reboot and reapplying the settings to "kick" the collection process.

I'm already running an SMTP server on the box so I really can't turn the WinGate SMTP service on to get it to start automatically after a reboot.

Is this getting fixed anytime soon?

1. What do you need to reapply; please elaborate so I can let the developers know.

2. What version of WinGate.

Hi,

jamesc wrote:1. What do you need to reapply; please elaborate so I can let the developers know.

1) Launch GateKeeper
2) Double click on the Email system service in the left pane
3) Click on Collection
4) Double click on any of the accounts I have set up.
5) Click OK.
6) Click OK again.

The system then runs the mail collection during the next scheduled cycle.

2. What version of WinGate.

6.2.1.

Thanks muchly.

A work around is available by enabling WinGate's SMTP Server and remove all of that servers bindings.
The changes between version 6.x releases can be reviewed here:
