DNS Resolver with AD W2K

Postby bob123 » Jan 18 04 2:55 am

How I can disable the second DNS server for WinGate.

Some lines from log.
01/17/04 18:05:33 DNS Resolver thread starting
01/17/04 18:05:33 Debug: server 218.19.164.10 <user input> now active (new)
01/17/04 18:05:33 Debug: server 192.168.0.2 <IP helper> now active (new)
0

because server 192.168.0.2 is internal DNS server for AD (without forwarding to ISP DNS) and sometimes Wingate switch to this server.

WinGate is getting this DNS server from the TCP/IP properties. The only way for IPHelper NOT to send it up to WinGate would be to remove it the from the TCP/IP properties on the WinGate machine.

However, if you add the WinGate machines IP as a forwarder option in the MS AD DNS server then even if WinGate did switch to using this AD DNS, it would forward back out through Wingate.
