multiple restrictions on ban/allow

Apr 04 07 9:07 pm

How can I configure WG for multiple allow/restrictions?

I want to allow my users to access some sites (i.e. company.com) all the time but only allow them to access their web/emails and chat clients (i.e. yahoo, hotmail, live, etc) during lunch hours and after work hours.

Currently, my users are on time restrictions. And if they need to access a site (i.e. FTP), then I have to remove the restriction per user - which is a bit troublesome. Is there any easy way I can allow/restrict using WG policies?

Thanks!

Alain

What you can do here is create another policy for the user/group that has the time restrictions etc. So you end up with two policies per user/group.

If your users are on a time restriction for everything I would suggest using a combination of service policies AND system policies. Use the system policies as your time restrictor, then relax only it for user special access

Hello, Chris!

Thank you for the tip! I was doing the restriction the other way around - service policies on time restriction and system policies on special allow...

Now, everything works fine!

Thanks to you, I don't have to bother the qbik staffs with a ticket anymore! ;)

Thanks again!
