Wingate and zone.msn.com games

Some of the online games at zone.msn.com run on a wingate client here and some do not. MSN's help notes that an applet is loaded the first time into many of the games. This client, under Win 2K used to be able to run these until it was reformatted and updated to XP Pro SP1. (no other problems encountered with the update).

From the WG Server PC (also XP Pro SP1) all the games run fine, and the applet is visible in \%WINDIR\Downloaded Program Files. Everything else internet-related I've tried on the client runs fine. The difficulty persists on the client whether I enable or disable the ENS firewall component. From the client PC, the applet isn't there, and the applet downloader never came up and asked permission.

Until, that is, I connected the client PC directly to the cable modem. The applet immediately loaded and all games ran. Upon reconnecting through the Wingate Server, the games in question no longer run.

The client is using NAT to connect to Wingate.

Any ideas on this one?
