Please Help (Urgent)

Apr 11 07 2:35 am

Hi everyone,

I just installed the latest version of Wingate 6.2.1 on my Windows XP Home computer. I am using DSL connection.

WWW server is configured on 80 port

On client side, I configured browsers with the IP address of the Wingate computer and the Port # 80. But I am unable to access the interent through client.

Can anyone please help me what's the cause of this problem and how to solve it.

Best Regards
bushib

1. Confirm that your network cards are correctly marked as Internal/External. Your network card / modem pointing towards the internet should be marked as External. The network card pointing towards the LAN should be marked as Internal. If you only have one network card and it has a default gateway to a hardware router with a firewall, then you can set it as Internal in WinGate - WinGate can do single NIC NAT.
GateKeeper --> View menu --> Networks

2. Confirm the WWW Proxy Server is started in WinGate. It may not start if there is another application claiming it's default port; 80 e.g. a web server.

3. Try setting a DNS address in WinGate's "DNS/WINS Resolver" - you may need to ring your ISP for the address if you are not sure.
GateKeeper --> DNS/WINS Resolver
