FTP Upload problems

Feb 11 04 6:05 pm

I have problems uploading bigger files (>1MB) via FTP Proxy in wingate.

I'm using WS FTP on the client sinde and trying to upload files via wingate on my ftp server (ISP connection via ISDN so <=7KB/s). WS FTP shows me a transferrate of 10KB/s (the first 200KB are transfered within <1s) and after a while it shows me 100% upload but wingate is still uploading the file (checked in gatekeeper).
Later on WS FTP rechecks the succsesfull transfer and this fails, of course it must fail because the file is not completly transfered yet.

Does Wingate use something like a cache where especially there first few (K)Bytes are stored while transfer or is it related to the virus plugin?
Or is it a known problem of WS FTP with wingate?

Best regards
Olaf

Do you have WS_FTP set to PASV mode? (Options->Program Options->Advanced->Site->Use Passive Transfer Mode)

Also, if you're using WS_FTP's secure FTP, do you have a keep-alive enabled?

Those are what worked for me.
