Hi all. New here, just heard about Wingate.
I have two computers to set up and I have a dialup connection, how is this done?
Do I need a NIC in each machine, network them, have one connected to the phone line and then install the software? Is it that simple?
Thanks!

It's that simple, hardware wise. A few things to check is that:
(a) you have full networking between the two (TCP/IP)
(b) the machine designated as server (modem) can dialup and surf the internet
There will be some configuration steps you need to go through, such as setting up the dialer in WinGate and deciding how you want your second PC to connect (NAT, WGIC or proxy direct) but that's easy enough.

Thank you very much for your response. Now, I have to ask, since one of the machines is running XP Pro, would it not be easier for me just to use Windows ICS instead of Wingate? I'm not sure which would be easier to use and which is better s/w, but I would have to assume Wingate offers more features.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

In terms of features and configurability, I believe WinGate offers you more. You have options on various plugins, VPN and so on. What might be best for you is to download and install WinGate. You have it available on a 30 day trial period, so you can see for yourself if it suits your needs and if you like it.

Again, thank you very much for your time. I really appreciate it!
