I need to know how to backup the port security settings in extended networking. So that in case it got changed, I don't have to do everything (set all the rules) again.
One time I tried to change the firewall setting to low. Eventhough WinGate notify me, I accidentally accept it and press OK. I know this is my mistake, but it surely very troublesome to set everything again.
Is there a way to backup these settings?
Thank you..

PS: Could you make the port settings interface easier to navigate pls. The drop-down menu of "from internet/to winGatePC/to Internet" somewhat may makes admin miss something. It would be great if WinGate can display it like a simple list.

The only way to back up your port security settings is to back up a registry key. Most driver related things are in the area:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Qbik Software\WinGate\Components\WinGate Network Driver
If you just want to back up the Port Security section then that is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Qbik Software\WinGate\Components\WinGate Network Driver\PortRanges
As for your suggestion, we agree, and are currently re-working the way we handle / display policies and configurations.

Neil,
Thank you for your fast response. And thank you qBik team for taking my suggestion into considerations.
Just want to confirm..
Does that mean if I need to setup another server from scratch (OS clean-Install), all I need to do is:
1. Install Wingate
2. Import old server registry branch of:
- Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Qbik Software\WinGate\Components\WinGate Network Driver
** Is that registry branch contains ALL custom (changes of default) config/rules/users ?
Another suggestion:
IMO it would be a great help, if Wingate Dev can put a button in the GUI for easy configurations (configs/rules/users) backup. So non-tech users doesn't have to dig into their windows registry.
Thanks again, and waiting for any responses..

That reg key only does Port Security, if you want to back up policies and users (ie everything) then you should use the option in GateKeeper under the Options - Advanced menu, in the trouble shooting tab, that says 'Save Registry Settings'. THis backs up the whole qbik registry, so if you then take this 'reg file to another PC (assuming IP's are the same etc) then you can just import that whole .reg file and all your users / policies etc will be imported to the new machine (remembering to stop the engine before you do this procedure)
