No GUEST in activity! Authentication rules... HELP!

Mar 17 04 12:03 am

Hello! (I'm French)

I run Wingate server (5.07) on Win2000 with principal and secondary DC based on others server.
I choose the user authentication based on NT/2000/XP accounts

On my network, i have clients running Win 98, Win 95 and WinXP!

I want this client to use wingate only to connect to internet. So, i want to block all applications except Internet explorer.
But i want all client to be authenticated, cause i want to run others restrictions (location, time, URL...)

What can i do?
I tried this with the WRP Policies:

1.Default rights must also be granted
User must be authenticated

2."Everyone" with ban list "Not client application name is empty".

3."Everyone" with ban list "Not client application name equals iexplore.exe" for winXP

4."Everyone" with ban list "Not client application name equals explore.exe" for win9x

The system policies are set to:
Everyone -> must be authenticated and i add the location restriction

In the WWW Service
Everyone -> must be authenticated too ans i add the URL rectrictions

all seems correct! It runs during 1 or 2 hours, then the Wingate engine crashes and i need to restart it.
During this crash, nobody can reach Internet...

Hi,

Are you seeing anything in the syslog files? Also, I would recommend upgrading to the latest version as we have made considerable changes since version 5.0.7.

Regards,
