Are you sure that the DNS server that you were using to look up names didn't just stop working?
Any sort of internet access normally requires the ability to look up (resolve) IP addresses for a name (such as
www.wingate.com, which resolves to 202.180.113.232).
To do this, WinGate uses what is known as DNS, and relies on a DNS server being available. Normally when you connect to the internet, your ISP provides you with the address of a DNS server to use. If for instance this server stopped working, then you would no longer be able to look up names.
In the client web browsers, you would see errors like "Name lookup for remote host failed".. Are you seeing errors like this?
