Our WinGate cannot send e-mail to a domain that is using greylisting. The SMTP server retries the e-mail numerous times, but all within the greylisting timeout of the receiving domain. By the time the message would be accepted, WinGate has given up.
The receiving domain is a college, and gets lots of mail - hence their greylisting policy. The question is: is there any way to get WinGate to recognize what is happening ("come back in 00:09:00"), and do what it needs to (namely, wait the specified amount of time)?
I would settle for a general way to have WinGate always wait longer between retries. However, there seems to be no setting for this.
Thanks,
Brad
p.s. we are using WinGate 6.1.4, but I see nothing relevant in the changes leading to the current 6.2.1.

Answering my own question, perhaps of use to others:
An inelegant but effective solution: I just raised the number of retries (under e-mail configuration) from 5 to 15. This ensures that WinGate retries longer than any possible greylisting time.

yep, was gonna suggest that.
WinGate backs off between retries, every second one is a minute apart, but after about 5 retries, in between it backs off 10 minutes a time I think.
