Wingate software on host with two NICS

May 01 04 9:37 am

Windows 2000 pc with USB ADSL modem (500k service).
This PC has a D-LINK PCI NIC and a BELKIN PCI wireless NIC.

I have an ACER 803 laptop with built in LAN & centrino.

Ideally I would like to be able to either;
a) use a cross over cable between the LAN cards and access the internet
or
b) use the wireless cards in each to access the internet.

I have worked out I can do this with ICS but it means setting up ICS to share the connection with the correct "Local Area Network" (either the fixed or wireless one) - and this requires a reboot....and each time I need to alter the IP of the LAN I want to use to 192.168.0.1.

I have read that the WINGATE software could allow me to use either the D-LINK with a x-over cable OR the wireless network to access the internet without needing to change wingate settings each time. ie if I boot the laptop with the x-over cable plugged in it will use that interface and if I boot the laptop without the x-over and connect to the windows 2000 PC over the wireless network (in ad-hoc mode) it will work it all out.

If that works presumably I could have two laptops working side by side - one using the x-over and one the wireless link?

Does anyone know if this is possible and how I would set up wingate to achieve it?
Is it anything to do with Wingates ENS feature?

Thanks.
