PROBLEMS WITH GATEKEEPER

i am running wingate 3 pro on windows nt 4.0 server. wingate has been running fine for the past 2 years. i am able to start wingate engine and stop it. before i could start the GATEKEEPER and logon as administrator, now it is not allowing me to log. the service is running fine and we are able to share the internet. now i can not go into GATEKEEPER to set up some controls.

i tried to unreinstall and reinstrall but still getting the same results.
THE ERROR MESSAGE IS
the was a problem connecting to the server. Connection refused by server.Check your server name and port number.

port = 808

Hi

"Connection refused" means there is nothing running on that port number. That would indicate that WinGate has not started up properly.

Normally on WinGate 3, the culprit was the history database. Try

1. stop the WinGate engine
2. delete History.* from the WinGate directory
3. Start the engine again.

i deleted history* files from wingate folder still no joy.
i can not go into services, users,

pls help
