No redirection of NAT sessions

May 20 04 11:41 am

Hi,

currently evaluating Wingate (5.2.2 since ENS in 5.2.3 won't work as I found out here) with Kaspersky Plugin. Seems to do fine so far, but my NAT sessions are not redirected through the corresponding proxies (...so no virus protection...). I can access the proxies when I configure the applications manually and redirection works with the WGIC and Winsock Redirector Service ... but not with those NAT sessions.

Anyone an idea?

Thanks,
André

You may wish to check whether the following option has been checked in the proxy configuration:

Under the sessions tab, there is a checkbox that will allow to redirect ENS and WGIC sessions.

... I have enabled the redirection e.g. in WWW Proxy Server (I already had before) and it works with WGIC but not with ENS ...

Hi,

How do your clients get their network setup?

If they are manually assigned, have you included the Wingate Server in the TCPIP setup under the Gateway?

If you assign the addresses automatically using the DHCP server, then if Fully Automatic it should be automatically assigning the client the DNS and Gateway information. If assigned manually you will need to add the following information. Under the Options for the scope you have created, you will need to add at least:
Router:
DNS server:
with the ip address of your wingate server

Goodluck.

Hi,

one client is set up manually, one via (fully automatic) DHCP and the internet access through ENS resp. NAT works fine on both. The only thing is that Wingate does not redirect the traffic to the proxies.

... wish I had :-] ...
