Hello,
I have young children who access the internet from "their" computer.
Their access comes through the wingate server, and I use the IQ (Interquick) proxy to filter out adult content.
I am concerned that IQ (which has always worked flawlessly for me) is no longer supported (I am on Wingate ver 5.2.2), and that one day its going to stop working...
I tried GateFilter 1.1 last year and there was no "site block by keyword" equivalent. As a result the filtering was nowhere near good enough. I never could fully understand how the AI engine there was working... seemed to be plenty of false-postives as well..
Also... GateFilter seems to be an "annual-charge" as opposed to a "one-time-charge-unless-I-physically-decide-to-upgrade"..
What is latest and/or recommended aprroach to do "adult-content" filtering using Wingate..
All comments / feedback/ opinions welcome...
regards, SHB

For sexual references filtering, i use the Puresight for Wingate 1.1. This is available as a trial from the wingate website.
I have set the slider for 30%, and it seems to work about right for me.

PureSight may not be right for your home configuration.
Being able to install and configure a product like NetNanny on the kids computer may be a better and less expensive option.
For other situations, such as when you're trying to keep your employees from opening your business up for lawsuits or preventing a classroom full of kids from visiting sites/sights they shouldn't, PureSight is a very good choice.
