Hi,

You can only control the size of the email if you are using the WinGate mail server, any email from hotmail etc will just come in as internet traffic on port 80. In version 6 you will be able to throttle bandwidth so you can control how much data comes in through the WWW proxy.

If you are using the WinGate email server you can control message size. If you go to the Receiving tab you can specify the maximum message size for both incoming and outgoing senders. If you enter 1024 in max message size then only emails less than 1 mb will be sent.

Matt

Hi,

It sounds like you're running WinGate without a version 5 license, we released the WinGate mail server in version 5.0. To use the WinGate email server you will have to upgrade your license, the good news is if you upgrade now you'll be eligible for a free upgrade to version 6 when it is released in July.

Please note that even with the WinGate email server you may not be able to block hotmail/yahoo attachments.

Regards,

Matt
