I am trying out Wingate 5.2.3 and so far it's quite ship-shape.
However, I am running into some problems with NAT.
I have an ip address, 198.112.108.12 which is my gateway. I also have some other public ip addresses in the same ip range. [198.112.108.12-16]
The gateway has local ip address 192.168.0.1.
I have a file server running at 192.168.0.2 which I want to turn into an ftp server.
I wish to configure Wingate so that either
1] Wingate accepts requests on port 21 from the internet for the ip address 198.112.108.13 (or any other public ip address that I have) and routes them to the file server.
or
2] Wingate accepts requests on 198.112.108.12 and forwards them to the file server.
I have already tried redirection in the Port Security tab of Extended Networking, but it does not seem to work.
What could be the problem? Could you offer pointers that can help me fix it?
cheers,
Onkar.

Hi,
It sounds like you're on the right track, opening a port in the Port Security tab should forward traffic from the internet to the IP address that you specify for the FTP server.
I'll outline the steps that you should take:
on the port security tab click add
make sure that connections from the internet is selected
enter port 21
choose redirect packet and enter the IP address of the FTP server
you can choose don't translate source IP
ok your way out.
Is WinGate on the gateway machine?

Matt
