I've been experimenting with Microsoft's Release Candidate 2 for the forthcoming Service Pack for Windows XP and have encountered a hitch with WinGate.
When I apply the Service Pack to the machine which hosts WinGate, even if I disable ICS and the firewall options offered by Microsoft, WinGate tells me that ICS or the Firewall is still active and refuses to install.
I'd like to stay with WinGate after the Service Pack becomes official, but unless something changes thats not going to be possible.

Hi Kevin
ICS still showing up as installed (with various products not just WinGate) is actually been seen on XP before the service pack 2 (RC1) and a registry based solution is listed on the Microsoft Knowledge base.
However we have directions (an overview) of what needs to be edited in the registry on our site here
http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=kn ... ubcat&_i=2
Just look at the KB article under the "Installation" category (its the only one in there)
This should help.
Regards
Erwin
