Our Wingate proxy server originally connected to the internet via a dial-up modem connection. We no longer have the dial-up ISP, and have since changed over to a T-1 connection service. I cannot get rid of the old connectoid (that's a Windows term...sounds like a growth in the sinuses!).
The old dial-up is still listed in Wingate's network connection list as "disconnected", but I cannot delete it....nothing happens; it just stays there. I can't get rid of it from the Windows 2000 network connections, either. If I right-click and choose delete, nothing happens...no "can't delete this" message or anything. I've restarted the Wingate server in Safe Mode and tried to get rid of it; same behavior...can't get it to delete.
How can I get rid of that old dial up connectoid? Do I have to remove and reinstall Wingate? HELP!

You need to remove it from the OS. WinGate enumerates RAS phone book entries to discover available dialups. If it's not on the OS list, it should be removed from the WinGate list as well.
