Granting access to a site that requires login

Jul 20 04 11:57 pm

I want to grant access to a website http://bbsnotes.ugs.com that is frequently used on my network and it requires a login account. I want to know if it is possible with Wingate 5.2.2 (Build 892) that other users on my network access that site through Wingate and when they access it they find the site automatially logged in. I mean the other users are getting the site from the proxy server and proxy server grants access to the users by automatically logging in. Can we predefine the login information for a particular site in Wingate so that when the users access it they are not required to login?

I hope I am clear :) Please HELP !

Not as far as I know. WinGate definately does not have support for automatic logins to websites, but with later versions we have significantly stronger support for other authentication methods (Such as NTLM) so it might be possible to do it that way.

However, the easiest option might be to use a website password manager (I believe IE as well as most Mozilla browsers) support this. Your users would only need to login once then. Of course, this all depends on your exact config - if your users use different computers, etc. etc.
