The WinGate Internet Client provides you with an alternative method of connecting your client computers to the WinGate Server and thus, the Internet.
The easiest method to configure is NAT, where you point the default gateway and DNS to the WinGate Server.
There are proxies, which requires you to configure each application on the client to connect to the appropriate proxy.
The last method is the WinGate Internet client. This is a Layered Service Provider that connects you to the WinGate Server. The greatest benefits for the Wingate Internet Client are:
1. Centralised Configuration - so the Administrator can allow / disallow certain applications to run OR prevent them from having Internet acccess from the WinGate Server.
2. Ease of authentication.
It does require you to run an installation per client computer, but if you're working in an Active Directory environment, you can automate delivery and installation of the appropriate MSI to your client computers.
