Win98SE machine will not connect

Jul 30 04 1:15 pm

I have wingate 6.0 on all my machines, but the win98 machine will not connect, am I missing something. Also there is a nonprivate address allocation message that continues to appear in the system messages, what is that, is someone trying to get an IP from my machine from the internet?

G'day,

IP addresses are categorised, here is a page from a Google search with some info on the area http://gnrt.terena.nl/content.php?section_id=207 [I have no association with that url, was just located from a Google search].

When you say Wingate 6.0x on all your machines, do you mean one is the Internet gateway/server and the rest have WGIC installed?

If you could list the numbering of your network:

eg: server 192.168.xxx and client machines 192.xxx???

whether you have DHCP enabled on the clients

can they ping one another?

Report back and someone will take it further.

Nev.
