Keeping a copy of mail in a server

Aug 02 04 8:55 pm

Dear Experts,

I would like to know whether wingate has the facility of automatically keeping a copy of mail on the wingate server.

Explanation: After wingate pulls the mails from the hosting provider, the mails are actually saved on the users node. Is it possible through wingate to automatically make a copy of mail which will be stored on the wingate server as a backup and the other copy to the mail client on users desk.

Thanks in advance

Hi

Yes, look at the email delivery tab in WinGate's mail server, there is a checkbox for "keep a copy of all sent mail".

If you select this, WinGate will keep a copy of everything delivered (including anything retrieved with WinGate's POP3 collection) in the WinGate\Mail\Spool\Sent folder

How about Received Mail

Thanks Ad, but how about the mail which is received? Is there any feature to make a copy of the recieved mail?

It's the same thing.

All mail that is delivered, is all mail that is received.

When we move an incoming mail from the post-in directory to the holding directory for delivery, that is when we create the copy to go in the sent mail folder.
