When I intially installed Wingate on my NT 4 Server. I selected "use windows usernames" during install. I was not allowed to log in or start up Wingate.
I reintalled using wingate usernames.
The wingate servis did not start. I had to go into services and have it start under the username and password for the server PC Administrator. The Wingate service started and starts automatically on boot up.
I was allowd to access Wingate Gatekeeper using the Wingate Administrator user.
I then went into the user option on gatekeeper and checked the use windows users option. I was warned that I should be logged in as a user with authority to use wingate. Since I was logged in as the NT Server Administrator, and the NT server Administrator was the user that started wingate, I assumed that was adequate.
I closed gatekeeper and now cannot start it under any user name and password.
Am I going to have to de-install and re-install wingate and all the pluggins?? Or is there another way to gain access to gatekeeper??

Hi Charles
On your OS, is there a group called "Administrators"? If not, then you'll need to do one of 2 things.
1. Create a group called Administrators, and add the user account you will log into GateKeeper with to that group; or
2. edit the registry, and in the keys which specify which groups can access what parts of WinGate, you'd need to substitute the text "Administrators" with the name of your administrators group.
I'd recommend the first option, as being easier.
