Windows Update Not Connecting

I am using SP2 and I get an error when I try to download/apply updates from windowsupdate.microsoft.com.

80072efd ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT Cannot connect to the Internet server

However, I am able to get access to the internet for other sites (like now)

Is this from a client or from the WinGate machine itself ? We tried this combination both ways - with XP SP2 on the client machine (WinGate server no SP2) and were able to connect to the download site. It showed three updates (Highmat CD, some others, etc.)

When we upgraded the WinGate machine to XP SP2 as well, connecting to windows update was fine from both machines.

How are you connecting your client through WinGate ? Is it using NAT, Proxy or WGIC ?

This is from a PC accesseing wingate as a proxy server. The update page connects, but the download of the patch/file fails. It has vailed on any file that they try to download to update me.

Just out of interest, do you see any firewall hits when this occurs?
