hello everyone,
I have wingate in a machiche with 2 ethernet to control the trafic to internet, one ethernet connect to my lan and another to internet. They have diferent IP range. Everything is working ok, but now I need to connect myself to a remote office with remote desktop and I can't do it. I tried to put in wingate the port 3389 as an exception, but it didn't work. If I go direct to the adsl it works, but if i try to do it throught the wingate it doesnt work. Anyone knows how to configure wingate to connect with a remote pc in another office. Any help, please? The wingate its in my lan and i want to connect to a remote pc from my lan.

Hi
To make a connection out of your LAN through WinGate shouldn't require any special configuration in WinGate, remote desktop makes a connection outbound to port 3389.
However, this remote machine you are connecting to, is it running a firewall, or is it behind any other firewall (i.e. DSL modem etc) device? If so, you'll need to open port 3389 on the remote network.

Hi adrien,
Thanks for your answer. I know I shouldnt have any problem, but I have. It seems that remote desktop doesnt recognize wingate, because if i ask for my mail, in the activity panel of wingate i see my computer activity, but when i try to connect to the remote pc I dont see anything... and of course, i don't connect with the remote pc. If i go with a direct connection (not through the wingate) it works ok, so i think the problem its in my wingate configuration... any idea?

Hello pbaranain
Try create TCP Mapping on Wingate, create ex. on port 3888, map to you remote IP's.
To connect to your remote IP's, use mstsc /v:WingateIP's:3888
Or in your RDP program, type Computer address : WIngate IP:3888
We're already using this way and work fine to remote RDP our branch.
Thanks
