Gatekeeper 5.2.3 uses 100% CPU in Windows XP for 30 seconds

When I login in some Windows XP machines using gatekeeper the machine is useless for 30 seconds, after that everything is normal.
I don't have any idea to correct this. All machines WinXP Pro.

Lot of questions:

Are you using GateKeeper for authentication only or is this for remote administration? Do you run it from a mapped drive or have you copied GateKeeper.exe to the client machines? Are you running any plugins?

I'm using it for both: authentication and remote administration. I run it from a mapped drive in a Novell Netware 5 server, no plugins.

This is the solution!!!!

I tried running GateKeeper from the local hard disk an runs Ok!!!!
Is this a bug in GateKeeper or in XP?
I´m going to copy Gatekeeper to all hard drives.

Thank you Pascal!!!

In all likelyhood it is busy attempting to open the history database (Visible from GateKeeper when running off a mapped drive, not when you're logging in remotely).

Our next maintenance release has some significant improvements in the history database startup code, so that could affect your situation.
