Gatekeeper doesn't shows System, Services, etc

Jan 12 08 1:19 am

Hello,

We've been using Wingate for some years. Today, when I was going to use FTP, I noticed that my FTP client returned Access Denied message. So, I logged using Gatekeeper to check my settings and I was surprised because:

1) Gatekeeper simply doesn't lists any of services, system, users
2) FTP and Telnet doesn't work anymore (both returned access denied).
3) I suspect that Wingate lost some settings or values in registry.

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

Wingate 6.2.1
Windows XP SP2

EDIT: I wanted to add a URL but QBik forum keeps saying that I'm not allowed to post websites.

Have you stopped/started the WinGate engine? That might clear things up.

The banning of web site postings is to try to block the forum ad spammers.

Let us know how it goes.

Yes. I restarted Wingate engine and even my PC. But that didn't fix.

OK - how about deleting the History files?

Already tried that too. Stopped Wingate Services and deleted history, but it didn't work :(

Well, drat. Are other things - WWW Proxy - still working?

Ah - are you sure you're logging into GateKeeper with an Administrator account? That's exactly what you see when you log in with a User account.

Proxy WWW, POP and SMTP works normally

I checked the registry and, somehow, my username account (it's not the Administrator account that I'm login now) was moved from a superpoweruser group to common group, so Telnet and FTP were denied. I changed back my account back to SuperPowerUser and FTP + Telnet are working correctly, but no luck with Gatekeeper.

I'll check the registry, maybe Administrator account was removed too.

Hey, I checked the registry and Administrator account was removed from Administrators group. I put it back and that did the trick!

Thanks for your help! :D
