WinGate 5/6 ENS qbikhkXP.sys error

Sep 13 04 5:28 am

Hi,

I have recently bought a new motherboard (GigaByte GA-K8VNXP) and it has two NIC's onboard. I have been working with WinGate for a long time now on my old computer, and it has worked wonderfully. But when I installed WinGate on this new computer, I got a blue screen on boot. The error was DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and it related to qbikhkXP.sys. I need ENS to share my internet connection through the network.
I have tried looking on the forums and google, but all the discussions are idle and haven't really offered a solution.

I tried formatting completely, reinstalling Windows XP (SP2) and installing WinGate immediately after, no success.
I tried removing the one PCI NIC I have and rebooting, no success.
I tried disabling all the peripherals (including the two onboard NIC's), no success.

I woul really appreciate any help I could get because I really want to use WinGate.

Thanks in advance,
EVASiON

I’ve exactly the same problem!
I’m running WinGate 5 on Windows 2000 Server.

Is there anything new related to this problem? Can you please help me?

Sometimes the system crashes and ends up in a bluescreen and sometimes I cannot restart the WinGate Engine (I have to restart the server).
I don't know why. Please, I need help!

Thanks in advance

Regards
Thomas

Hi,

We found an interim solution for the SP2 problem. What you need to do is to switch DEP protection off - in order to do that you have to modify boot.ini file. Open the file and find a /NoExecute=... key in it. Change it to /Execute and save boot.ini. You will have to reboot the machine after this change. Please, let me know if it helps.

Meanwhile, we will modify our driver to allow it functioning under SP2 protection.
