Bindings

Sep 13 04 1:06 pm

Hello. I have the following doubt.
I use Wingate to share my Internet connection with my sister. I use WinXP and she uses Win98SE. Everything works just fine. But my problem is this one: suppose that I turn on my computer, and some minutes later she turns her computer on. In order for her to use Internet, I have to stop the Wingate engine, and start it again so it recognizes the interface/binding 192.168.0.2 (which is my sister's computer IP in the local network). Then it doesn't matter if she turns her computer off and then back on, as long as I don't turn off or restart my computer or the Wingate engine.
What I need to know is if there is any way to leave that inerface/binding always active or recognizable to Wingate.
Thanks in advance.

What version of Wingate are you using? Version 6 supports dynamic binding and interface recognition so you might consider upgrading to v6.

Hello. Thanks for answering so quickly.
I'm using Wingate 5.2.3. If I upgrade, will this problem be solved? I registered it, do I have to pay again?
And last question: what is dymanic binding?
Thank you!

No, you do not have to pay - your license will be upgraded.
Dynamic binding is exactly what you are looking for - when the new interface/IP address pops up Wingate will automatically use it.
