Wingate 5 Server errors in Windows XP

Sep 16 03 7:56 am

Wingate only work in windows 98 forced mode and not start the ENS service.

Why ??

Thanks

when you say Win98 forced mode, do you mean the -force9x switch?

That makes me suspect that the service is not installed as a service properly.

Can you see an entry in the control panel, administrative settings, services for "Qbik WinGate Engine"?

Otherwise you can see if it is in the registry by looking under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinGate

The service can be installed and uninstalled via the command line, so it is possible it was uninstalled if you have been testing command line options.

Which verison of XP is this? Not Home?

Yes, i need use the -force9x switch because WinGate service don't start without parameters.
The "Qbik WinGate Engine" exist as service, but don start automatically. Manual start produce the "error 193:0xc1"
I uninstall and reinstall Wingate without solve the problem

XP is the Pro version.

Very thanks and sorry my bad english

error 193 means that "the application is not a valid win32 application".

That implies that perhaps the exe is corrupted somehow. have you tried downloading the installer again?

Hi

I am not sure I understand you - did you download the installer again?

Reinstalling the same one you had before is not likely to help much if it is a corrupted download
